We’re getting a break from a somewhat active winter over the next few days, with some rain the only spoiler to a mild beginning to next week. However, the pattern remains busy, with the potential for more rain coming late this week.

A strong cold front responsible for severe thunderstorms across 10 states is making its way toward Virginia. There’s a slight risk for severe thunderstorms tonight and strong winds capable of damaging homes and other property.

More snow in store later today; Winter Weather Advisory in effect at 1pm

A quick round of 1-2” of snow will arrive later this afternoon, making for a complicated evening commute.

Nearly two inches of snow blanketed most of central Virginia on Thursday, leading to some isolated power outages and widespread enjoyment of a four-day weekend.
