The Flying Squirrels (11-9) return home tonight after a 4-2 road trip for a 3-game home series with the hated Bowie Baysox (12-9). This will be a great weekend to come out to the Diamond: the baseball should be good, the weather will be fantastic, and the promotions keep on coming…

The Flying Squirrels are looking to both balance their record against the Baysox and make some moves in the Western Division standings with this series. Second-place Bowie took 3 of the 4 games in their season-opening first set, with that one loss to Richmond being Bowie’s only loss in their first ten games. The Baysox have cooled off of late and come to town on a 5-game losing streak. The Flying Squirrels are 1/2 game behind the Baysox and a win tonight will bump the Squirrels into 2nd place and drop Bowie to 3rd.

Bowie – Johnson, S (0-1, 4.74) vs Richmond – MacDonald (0-2, 3.38)
Friday kicks off the 2nd homestand of the season with a Team Autograph Session / Team Photo Giveaway AND the antics of Reggy the Purple Party Dude. The gates will open at 5:30PM for the autograph session, with the Flying Squirrels going until just before 6PM. The first 3,000 fans of all ages will receive a Team Photo presented by Coke Zero.

Saturday May 1 – 6:35PM (HOME)
Bowie – Spoone (1-2, 5.21 ERA) vs Richmond – Tanner (1-2, 2.25 ERA)
The first 1,500 fans of all ages will receive a Squirrel Clock.

Sunday May 2 – 2:05PM (HOME)
Bowie – Tanaka (2-1, 3.57 ERA) vs Richmond – Maday (3-0, 1.11 ERA)
Sunday should be rockin’. The Squirrels finally picked up their first day-game win of the season on Wednesday and will go for #2 in front of what should be a lively crowd. The kids’ll be out for the Squirrel Tail’s Kids Club, and the first 2,000 fans 14-and-under will receive a light switch plate presented by the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Sunday will also see an invasion of grubby Baysoxers who are piling on a bus and coming down to Richmond for the game.
