Teachers and community members will march to City Hall to support the full funding of RPS by the city. Monday, April 25th at 5:15 PM. RPS and the community are invited to gather at Martin Luther King Middle School (1000 Mosby St., 23223) at 5 PM.
Free school readiness health services–including physicals and immunizations–will be provided at the Arthur Ashe Center.
The grant was made possible through funding approved by the Virginia General Assembly to support innovative extended-year programs.
Elected officials, media personalities, faith leaders, and other notable people will visit classrooms and read to students around the City of Richmond this week.
March 1st will now be a school holiday for City of Richmond and Henrico County students.
LaShante Knight was selected among a small group of principals selected nationwide to give input on the Department of Education’s programs, policies, and initiatives.
The school will use the $3,000 grant to purchase nearly 300 new books.

“You are systematically stripping this school until nothing is left,” one angry parent reportedly said in a recent meeting on the pending changes.
