So long, RVA!
We’re going a little highbrow this weekend, I hope that’s OK. We’ve got a crowd-sourced library all about you, a party on the river, a party on a hill, a party in the form of a really cool pop-up shop, and then tons of Beethoven (who, let’s be honest, partied very little).
Richmond in August is in panic-mode. There is so much to do and so little time before school starts. Quick: see art, stay outside after dark, get sick on fried food, do something nice with the whole family, do something scary with maybe not the whole family. Weekdays and weekends will still happen after Labor Day, but it just won’t be the same.
Obviously, the number one thing you should do with your family this week is celebrate America and what it means to be American, exchange 4th of July gifts, and then fight about who is the best First Lady (Dolley Madison). But when all of that is done, here are some other things you can do.
Yesterday’s storm brought 60-80 mph wind gusts that uprooted a Maymont tree.
Artists like Dr. John, The Wailers, and Sheila E. will perform in August at this year’s Richmond Jazz Fest.
O come all ye in search of merriment to a weekend filled with Christmas the way it should be done–elegantly, nostalgically, and in a slightly nerdy fashion.
