A group called Richmond Coalition for Quality Education filed a lawsuit Tuesday in Richmond Circuit Court against the city’s School Board over the decision to rezone city elementary schools after the closure of Clark Springs Elementary School.

[Former City Councilman Marty Jewell] said the school closures were done for a “handful of racist white folks” at the expense of black children, though he didn’t explain how.
The suit asks the court to overturn the elementary school attendance zones the School Board approved in August.
