Virginia Commonwealth University continued to struggle with inexperience as they lost to Georgia Tech 73-60 Friday night. Georgia Tech scored 50 points in the second half as VCU blew their 10 point halftime lead.
After serving a three game suspension, Georgia Tech’s Glen Rice Jr. (19 Pts, 8 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 Stl, 1 Blk) got hot and led his team through a near flawless second half.
Fortunately for the Rams, Bradford Burgess looked more comfortable than in the first two games of the season. Without last year’s depth, he has struggled against double teams and his success will be crucial to VCU winning games.
For the first time since losing the opening game of the 2005-2006 season to Appalachian State, the Rams are under .500.
The Rams will play Western Kentucky on Sunday at noon and it can be watched on ESPN3.
The Rams will travel to rematch Western Kentucky on Wednesday Nov. 23rd. VCU will then wrap up their five game stretch of away games at #15 Alabama.
After playing five consecutive road games, the Rams will return home against University of South Florida on November 30th at 7:30pm.
