He’s one of the greatest shooters in VCU history. Now he’s making a name for himself in the NBA D-League.

Two games, 56 more points, and 13 more 3-pointers later, and Troy Daniels has shown no signs of slowing down in the NBA D-League. Monday night, Daniels finished with 29 points while hitting 7 of 12 from 3-point range. During one stretch, Daniels hit six 3-pointers in 9 minute and 20 seconds.

Coach Smart and VCU fans have always known about Troy Daniels’ shooting abilities. After hitting a VCU-record 94 3-pointers his junior season, Daniels earned national attention for hitting 11 3-pointers against East Tennessee State University last December. Daniels followed that up by finishing the season with a school record 124 3-pointers before winning the Hampton Hotels Men’s 3-Point Championship.
Graduation hasn’t slowed down Troy Daniels. He opened his career in the NBA D-League with 22 points on 6 of 11 3-point shooting. On Tuesday, he scored 29 points while going 8 of 14 from 3-point range:
