Weather! Hey good lookin’

…I see it’s some awesome weather that you’ve got cookin’!

…I see it’s some awesome weather that you’ve got cookin’!

I decided it would be a cruel joke to attempt any sort of poorly-attempted April Fool’s joke here, so rest assured that I won’t be trying to pull any sort of “fast one” on my readership.

Basically, the motto of the next four days is “get outside!” Drink on a patio. Eat on a patio. Go to Maymont. Check out Lewis Ginter. Check out the RVANews 5 things list. Go for a walk in the Fan. Go for a walk in the West End. Go for a walk on Southside. Just get out! If you’re thinking about going out to the river this weekend, remember that the river is still quite high and to use caution. You need a permit to be on the river as long as it is above 9 feet at the Westham gauge.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all looking fabulous! Highs every day should be in the low to mid 80s, with crisp, clear blue skies. Lows every night will drop into the low 50s – perfect stargazing weather. We may see some high clouds toward Sunday, but don’t fret. High cirrus clouds on otherwise sunny days make for great viewing of atmospheric phenomena like sun dogs; I’ve already spied two over the last two weeks.

NBC12’s Jim Duncan is trying to rain on the proverbial weather parade by reminding everyone that we’re going to pay for these beautiful days. This pattern won’t last forever — we will, no doubt, pay for it again.

Enjoy it while you can.
