Senator Mark Warner stops by Hardywood

Today Senator Mark Warner stopped by Hardywood Park Craft Brewery to chat beers, laws, and…healthcare?

Senator Mark Warner popped into Hardywood today for a tour of the facility and a chat with some of Virginia’s brewers. Folks from Devils Backbone, Legend, Center of the Universe, Strangeways, and more were on hand to talk with the Senator about some of the problems facing Virginia’s growing beer industry.

Warner, who’s “more of a wine guy”1 (but says he’s trying to convert to beer!), is a member of the Senate’s Small Brewers Caucus. He’s working on some new legislation that will give brewers a few federal tax incentives. However, most of the conversation centered around hospitality workers and compliance with the Affordable Health Care Act.

Also, here’s a video of Senator Warner trying a Hardywood Singel!
