LISTEN: 20 minutes with Susan Meyers
The last in our series of conversations with the YWCA’s Outstanding Women Award honorees, Susan Meyers closes us out with why we’re not volunteering…and why we should be.
Susan Meyers has left her mark on all sorts of organizations–Impact 100, the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, Jewish Family Service, the Visual Arts Center, the YWCA, and seriously a ton more. But she’s not just trying to pad her resume–Susan’s retired already and has no interest in any sort of thinly-veiled power grab roles.
For her, it’s a personal calling and a responsibility. Even better, it’s something she just really loves to do.
Really the sitting-on-boards-handing-out-decisions is the least fun part. Susan loves the hands-on aspect she gets from doing things like mentoring at Swansboro Elementary.
