February was the month of the first RVAjazzfest. We extensively previewed the three local bands — Glows in the Dark, Brian Jones’s Boots of Leather, and Fight the Big Bull — and the featured artist, Steven Bernstein. We got some nice press in Style Weekly, MashUp, and here on RVANews by Matt White. Photos in three parts (1, 2, 3) help the event live on. In the non-jazzfest world, Bryan Hooten began his four-part Framing the Void series on RVANews, and Paquito D’Rivera & New York Voices played the Modlin Center.
