Workweek Best Bets: National Night Out, Sublime in Concert & Candy Bingo

There’s something to do every night this week around the Far West End! Check out this week’s Workweek Best Bets for National Night out events, live music, Candy Bingo and more fun activities.

Tuesday: National Night Out events taking place around Short Pump

On Tuesday, August 2nd, neighborhoods throughout Henrico County are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 28th Annual National Night Out crime prevention event.

Henrico County Police has 96 events registered throughout the county. A list of Henrico’s National Night Out neighborhood events is available below.

It is anticipated that over 37 million people from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states will participate in this year’s event. Residents are encouraged to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Many neighborhoods throughout Henrico will be hosting special events such as block parties, cookouts, flashlight walks, and youth activities.

Wednesday: Sublime comes to Innsbrook After Hours

Alternative reggae rockers Sublime will take the stage with Rome and special guest Gill this Wednesday at Innsbrook After Hours. Gates open at 6:00 and tickets are $17.50 in advance, $20 at the door. Gold Circle seating and Skyboxes are $35 and $75, respectively.

Due to the expected excessive heat, organizers will allow all ticket holders to bring in three sealed bottles of water, 24 ounces or less. No coolers will be allowed.

Thursday: Susan Greenbaum live at Short Pump Town Center

Richmond favorite Susan Greenbaum will entertain shoppers in the Main Plaza of Short Pump Town Center Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

This free show is part of the mall’s Summer Concert Series.

Expect lots of great specials at stores around the mall and fun activities for the entire family.

Thursday: Melissa Etheridge rocks out at Innsbrook After Hours

Yep, that’s right, two Innsbrook shows in one week! Melissa Etheridge, perhaps best known for her 1993 hit singles “Come To My Window” and “I’m The Only One,” will play Innsbrook Thursday night.

Gates open at 6:00, and like the Sublime shows, water will likely be allowed, but an announcement for this show hasn’t been made as of yet.

Tickets are $17 in advance, $20 at the gate and $50 or $100 for Gold Circle or Skybox seating, respectively.

Friday: Candy Bingo at The Sweet Spot in West Broad Village

Sweet Spot candy store in West Broad Village is hosting a Candy Bingo night on August 5th at 5:30 p.m. Play a few rounds, try for a candy prizes and join in this fun activity for all ages.
