The Fan Alley Cleanup and Beautification is November 6th from 9AM-noon:
First, the Committee is offering 5 gift certificates for the “Most Improved” alleys. To compete, submit a “before” photo of your alley by 8:30 a.m. on November 6th and an “after” photo no later than 1 p.m. on November 6th to Calder Loth at cloth@verizon.net.
The 5 winning alleys will each receive a $100 gift certificate to your choice of The Garden Place, Sneed’s Nursery, Strange’s Nursery or Lowe’s to purchase items for further alley beautification. Designate one of your neighbors as the alley steward for your block. The steward submits the application and collects your prize.
Second, we will be targeting specific alleys that contain bulk trash, empty cans & bottles, and other litter. The City is providing a roll-off dumpster for our use, and volunteers with trucks will help cleanup those alleys. If you can help with this effort, please come to Meadow Park at 9 a.m. We will assign volunteer groups (and trucks) to specific alleys AND provide trash bags, gloves, bottled water, and Rostov vouchers for coffee after we’re done.
