Richmond Police were called early Sunday morning to the 8200 block of Riverside Drive at Huguenot Flatwater to find a man shot in a wooded area near where Rattlesnake Creek meets the James River.

Richmond Police update as of 9:10 p.m. Sunday:

Richmond Police have identified the victim in this morning’s shooting on Riverside Drive as Osbin N. Hernandez-Gonzales, 18, of the 2900 block of Falling Creek Avenue, Chesterfield.

At approximately 5 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person down in the 8200 block of Riverside Drive where they found Hernandez-Gonzales dead in a wooded area from an apparent gunshot wound. The Medical Examiner will determine cause of death. The homicide investigation continues.

Anyone with information that could help police is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
