From the RPS website:

During its regularly scheduled meeting on April 27, the Richmond City Council recognized two of the district’s extraordinary elementary schools: J.E.B. Stuart and Overby-Sheppard. Stuart Elementary was recognized as part of the 2009 Governor’s Award for Academic Excellence under the Virginia Index of Performance incentive program awarded to the school earlier this year, while Overby-Sheppard was recognized for the school’s overwhelming success through the Bumblebee’s Academy, an after-school enrichment program made possible through 21st Century Community Learning Center grant funding. The Council presented each of the schools with an award certificate.

The teachers, administrators, parents, and students at these schools deserve a big congratulations for this one!
