Two major apartment projects are planned within about eight blocks of each other on the south side of the James River in Manchester, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Both will be close to the James River Park.

One will be at the foot of the Manchester Bridge and the other at the foot of the Robert E. Lee Bridge. Seems like both will be ideal for river lovers, though there was no details released on the height for either building.

  • A 188-unit building with garage parking on 1.8 acres at 901 McDonough Street parcel near the Manchester Bridge, across from the SunTrust complex.
  • A 200-unit building, to be called Manchester on the James, on a 2.25-acre wooded lot at 700 Cowardin Street near the Lee Bridge and near the scenic byway Riverside Drive.
