Back in the late ’90s, I lived in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and I used to patronize many stores like Turnstyle. None were as hardworking as Turnstyle. Turnstyle has to be, because the market in Richmond for what they sell is obviously twice as small as the LA, San Francisco or DC markets. Joanna and Jessie knew there was a market in Richmond for their original idea centered on their passions in life, DJing, true urban fashion and underground electronic music.
