Carytown Farmers Market

The Carytown Farmers Market is the city’s only Sunday market. We are starting our 2013 season April 14 and will be located in the Carytown Cleaners parking lot at 3300 West Cary Street.

City Council Formal Meeting

Every 2nd and 4th Mon – Responsible for deciding official Council action, which includes discussing, adopting, rejecting, and amending laws and approving the budget. Formal meetings include a time for pubic comment and are televised live on the local PBS station and are replayed in Richmond on Government Access Channel 17, beginning at Noon and 7:00 p.m. daily.

Memorial Day run with VCU Police, Veterans, Wounded Warriors

Fan and Carver residents looking for a way to honor our country’s fallen soldiers on Memorial Day are invited to participate in the Never Forget Memorial Run on Monday at noon. Dozens of runners, including members of the VCU Police Department and Richmond-area veterans and wounded warriors, will travel the 1.4 miles from the UU parking lot at the VCU Siegel Center to the Virginia War Memorial. All members of the community are invited to join the free run/walk and residents are advised that some streets may be temporarily closed as the group travels from Broad Street down Ryland Street to Franklin Street to Belvedere and into the War Memorial.
