Fulton’s known history stretches back to Powhatan, through centuries of a vital connection to the shipping trade (particularly Rocketts Landing), one influx after another of immigrants and migrants to Richmond, the demise of the lower part of Fulton some 40 years ago, and revitalization using both new construction and, more recently, new enthusiasm for what remains of its historic structures.
