Short Pump Teacher Arrested After Alleged Online Affair with Underage Girl

A Short Pump area teacher is facing multiple charges after an alleged online affair with an underage girl in Pennsylvania. This morning, members of the Henrico Police Special Victim’s Unit and the FBI Taskforce executed a search warrant in the 2800 block of Sable Road, the residence of 48 year old Ty M. Levy.

A Short Pump area teacher is facing multiple charges after an alleged online affair with an underage girl in Pennsylvania. This morning, members of the Henrico Police Special Victim’s Unit and the FBI Taskforce executed a search warrant in the 2800 block of Sable Road, the residence of 48 year old Ty M. Levy.

Levy, a 5th grade school teacher at Gayton Elementary School and a tennis coach at Deep Run High School, is charged with having an online affair via Skype with a female under the age 18 from South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, northwest of Philadelphia. Henrico Police became aware of the investigation during the first week of June.

The cooperative efforts between all of the involved agencies led to Levy’s arrest. Levy has been charged with 9 felonies and 3 misdemeanors.

Charges are as follows:

Photograph/film/depict on computer sex act – child

Child pornography

Unlawful contact with a minor – sex offense

Unlawful contact with a minor – Open Lewdness

Unlawful contact with a minor – Obscene  sexual materials

Contact/Communications with a minor – sex abuse x2

Display explicit sex materials to a minor

Corruption of minors x2

Indecent Exposure

Open Lewdness

South Williamsport Police Department is the lead investigative department for the existing charges. Henrico Police investigators are conducting an investigation to determine if offenses occurred locally.
