I can’t say that I’ve seen beavers arrange rocks in this fashion, but I can say that I’ve noticed this kind of thing happening more often down at the James River.

I noticed this rock formation at Riverside Drive and I’ve seen families gather behind the wall to sit in the slow-moving waters. I think it is harmless fun, as long as fish and other aquatic life isn’t being trapped by the formations. 

Have you ever been down to the James and gathered up and moved rocks? Rock piles are one thing, but what about building dams and miniature jettys?
