Are you interested in the development of the riverfront in downtown Richmond? Wednesday night at the Virginia War Memorial, you get your chance to see the status of the plan and give your input.

Public Forum
The purpose of the Richmond Riverfront Plan is to create a conseptual design to guide the future direction of the downtown Richmond riverfront on both sides of the James River from Ancarrow’s Landing to the Robert E. Lee Bridge. The conceptual plan will develop a cohesive vision for phased riverfront improvements, high-level analysis of the feasibility and priorities of potential redevelopment projects, estimated capital budgets and benefits.

The goal is to develop a plan that will:

Establish the river as the focus of the community
Promote a sustainable river corridor
Strengthen linkages between the river and adjacent neighborhoods
Identify sites for strategic private redevelopment and public improvements
Evaluate potential for quality open spaces and public recreational opportunities

The Consultant Team from Hargreaves Associates will conduct the Public Forum. The Team has been reviewing and analyzing available information to define key issues and identify constraints and opportunities that will have a bearing on the development of the plan.

At the Public Forum, the Team will present the initial analysis of site conditions to initiate a public dialogue that helps further define the issues and prioritize goals for Richmond’s riverfront.
