Registration is now open for the second annual Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) 5k Run/Walk and Kids Run, scheduled for Feb. 27 at Short Pump Town Center. The 5k race will begin at 9 a.m. with a children’s run at 8:30 a.m. There also will be a family festival in the food court following the race.

Registration is $20 for the 5k run/walk ($30 on the day of the race) and $10 for the kids run. Online race registration is now available by clicking here.

Runners can also register by mail by by clicking here. This year SCAN 5k participants have the ability to help prevent and treat child abuse and neglect even more by raising pledges.

Those who have registered for the race can get started by clicking here, then clicking the “start fundraising” button on the right side to create their own fundraising pages.

To make a pledge on behalf of a runner, visit www.raceit.com and enter the runner’s name.
