We have been advised that several armed robberies and one attempt occurred over the weekend in the Fan and Museum Districts. Some of these robberies occurred during ‘normal’ hours when residents are likely following regular routines.

This story on NBC 12 revealed that in most cases, “the thieves started talking to the victims. They asked if the people had a cigarette or a light. This was just a pretense, and then the guns came out.”

As you know, these types of robberies are rare in our neighborhood, and suspects are usually caught quickly. If involved in a robbery, the police strongly advise not to fight back and to hand over valuables without delay. Try to get a good description of the individuals, and call 911 immediately.

In the meantime, please be very cautious and aware of your surroundings, remain alert, travel in pairs whenever possible, and report any suspicious activity or anything out of the ordinary to 911 immediately.
