Fifth-grade students at Richmond’s Chimborazo Elementary School have discovered that healthy food can also taste good thanks to “Project Kids Chef,” a nutrition and cooking demonstration program that features partnerships with local restaurants and the Farm to Family “mobile veggie bus.”

Already this year, students have witnessed Jim Hamilton, chef at Millie’s Diner, purchase ingredients from the bus and then prepare a meal of pasta with fresh vegetables, garlic and Parmesan cheese. Other restaurants scheduled to give cooking demonstrations at the school include The Hill Café, Sette and Patrick Henry’s Pub and Grille.
