Virginia Eye Institute broke ground on its 2.1 acre outparcel at its Towne Center West property in Short Pump, on Wednesday, May 18th. Doctors and administration from Virginia Eye Institute, HCA, and representatives of Henrico County were in attendance.
The ground breaking kicked off the construction of the 16,000-square-foot comprehensive eye-care center to be built on the site, which has an estimated completion date of January 2012. The center will include services for general ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, ocularplastics, optometry, and a full-service optical shop.
Virginia Eye Institute’s CEO Chris Carney believes that the Towne Center West office will succeed in bringing quality comprehensive ophthalmic care to Western Henrico.
“Our Towne Center West office is an important step in VEI’s goal to be accessible to those who want to use our array of ophthalmic services,” Carney said.
Virginia Eye Institute will be hiring additional doctors and staffing for the site. The site will also offer a primary care physician practice, part of HCA’s Virginia Health System.
