The National Weather Service confirms a tornado of undetermined strength barreled through the Oilville area of Goochland County Wednesday night around 8:15 p.m. Readers Carrie Fleck and Dave Runion submitted these photos of the storm.
The first is what appears to be a wall cloud over the Oilville area, viewed from 10 miles east at Pouncey Tract and Interstate 64.
The second is a photo of the tornado and/or funnel cloud from the storm, taken facing east from Broad Street Road and Route 617 in the heart of Oilville. Trees were reported down along Interstate 64 as the twister passed over the roadway, but no major damage reports or injuries were known at press time.
