Mezzanine, Amour, Can Can, Secco nominated for Elbys

The January 2012 issue of Richmond Magazine has info on the 2012 Elbys, a new awards and recognition program for the Richmond region’s restaurant community. The Elbys, named for renowned French Chef and Richmonder Paul Elbling, will be given out on Sunday evening, February 12, 2012. These awards will recognize winners from a list of nominees in nine categories. Net ticket proceeds will benefit the Tricycle Gardens. (Tickets are available online.)

A number of area restaurants have been nominated for the awards. Todd Johnson of Mezzanine has been nominated as Chef of the Year (along with Dale Reitzer of Acacia Mid-town, Russell Cook of Balliceaux and Lee Gregory of The Roosevelt).

Amour Wine Bistro, Can Can Brasserie, and Secco Wine Bar are all up for best Wine Program (along with Enoteca Sogno). Secco’s Tim Bereika has the nod for Rising Culinary Star (along with Ryan Baldwin of Tastebuds American Bistro, Aaron Cross of Lemaire, and Caleb Shriver of Aziza’s on Main).
