I heard from a friend who works at the Market at Tobacco Row that van service will soon be starting there. Today I confirmed this with the store director, Hugh Lewis. He said he didn’t want to give out specifics since details haven’t been finalized but…
there will be routes running from Mosby and the local retirement homes and they will be able to give rides home to people who walk or ride the bus to the store but have too many groceries to carry them home. The van is scheduled to arrive [Friday]. […] He also mentioned the idea for this came from the article on food deserts that appeared in the Richmond times a few months ago.
