My boyfriend found two dogs running around in Government Road east of Gilles Creek Park in traffic yesterday afternoon. They came right up to him and jumped into his truck bed when he pulled over to get them out of harms way.

He sat roadside with them for a while, thinking an owner might come by, but noone did. He called Richmond Animal Control to come get them, as we have dogs already and couldn’t house them.

The female dog was a spayed liver and white pit bull, she had a blue belly tattoo. She was very very sweet and knew basic commands. We removed a thorn from her eyebrow. Her nails were well kept, and she was so well behaved that she must be someones pet.

The male dog was a neutered black lab/pit/terrier mix with a white patch on his chest. His nails were also well kept, he pulled but walked well on a leash, and he knew basic commands like sit, up, down. He was also a real lover, very busy passing out kisses the short time he was in our company. He had on a camoflauge collar and half of a leash.

I posted this on facebook, Fulton Hill News, and Church Hill news sites. Hopefully this dynamic duo’s owners will call around and find them. They were such sweet dogs, as dog lovers we’d rather our dogs be found and out of harm’s way than smashed in traffic or loose in a storm.

Please share this posting and the photos of the dogs, and if you are interested in adopting a pair of new friends, please check these guys out. They were so loveable, and we were very upset to see them go to the shelter.
