While walking at Belle Isle Monday, looking for great James River flood pictures, I happened upon the new ramp at Belle Isle. It would appear that 15 feet by the Westham gauge is the limit for the ramp, which was put in place over the winter to allow wheelchair access to Hollywood Rapid.
The water spilled over into the walkway around Belle Isle, which probably got worse as this photo was taken at around 1:30 p.m. and the James was expected to reach it’s crest at about 8 p.m. Monday.
