Keep the kids up late Saturday night, it’s time to explore nature and see how many different types of fireflies they can catch down at the James River.

The place is The Wetlands, the park located just east of Pony Pasture Rapids Park. The time is Saturday from 8:45 p.m. – 10:15 p.m. From the James River Park:

Explore The Wetlands trails at night looking for at least 5 different species of fireflies that can be identified by their flash patterns. Bring a small flashlight with a red lens cover. Wear lots of insect repellent.

Meet at the entrance to The Wetlands on Landria Drive. 8:45 pm to 10:15 pm $5 Sponsors: James River Park System (Richmond Recreation, Parks and Community Facilities) and the Friends of the James River Park System – 646-8911.
