An Innsbrook area restaurant has closed its doors– at least for now. The Patio, located at the Shoppes at Twin Oaks on Cox Road, was empty last Friday afternoon, and a neighboring business said the restaurant had been closed for about a week.

Owner David Du could not be reached by press time.

Du originally opened Dd33 Asian Bistro in the location in 2006. The fusion restaurant received good reviews, but eventually the bad economy took a toll on the fine dining crowd. Du told the Richmond Times-Dispatch last June that he was retooling the restaurant because it wasn’t drawing enough diners.

In July, the restaurant reopened with the new name and concept, dishing up classic American food.

The Patio isn’t the first restaurant in the shopping center to close this year. Ipanema Grill, a Brazilian restaurant, shut down in September. The center has several other small vacancies.
