Innertube trip: Cooper’s Island to Reedy Creek

Bob through riffles, pools and small rapids among waterfowl and interesting water plants in a remote-seeming part of the river. Some walking to the put in. Tubes, lifejackets and guides provided. Must be able to swim, wear sneakers, and above age 12. Reservations required. $5 Fee. Park at HQ office (Reedy Creek Entrance) 4001 Riverside Drive.

Dive and Draw!

Saturday, July 16 Dive and Draw! 10AM – 1PM Kids, 10+ years, will snorkel among giant catfish and delightful turtles at one of the most beautiful spots on the James River. Then they will use the inspiration to create a souvenir art project. Location: James River Park System, Pony Pasture Fee: $5.00 Sponsors: Friends of James River Park, Chesterfield County Environmental Engineering Registration: 748-1920
