The Hill Gallery is a new art space tucked into a hidden storefront at 708 North Robinson Street between Grace and Monument. If the chalkboard sign isn’t out, you would not know that the gallery is even there. The subtle sidewalk presence belies the energy of the expressive paintings that you will find inside.
Artist Randi Hill paints abstract and representational pieces, with her recent “Truck Series” successfully blurring the line between the two. In her own words:
The familiar images, or images that intrigue are the anchoring point, the story of the painting. Beyond that I am working on the line, form and color almost on their own, No, that’s not exactly right- it’s not separate- the image provides emotional context to the abstract qualities of a painting- it’s all happening at once.
Hill Gallery will be opening this Thursday, November 21, from 6-9 PM and Saturday, November 23, from 12-5 PM.
