Waller McCracken, co-owner of this established Lakeside eatery says the restaurant will re-open after a recent kitchen fire.

“We are going to add a brand new kitchen and handicapped bathrooms”, he said gesturing to the parking lot to the right of the building. “We’re working with the insurance company – it all hinges on that.”

An afternoon kitchen fire on April 17, 2010 has left the popular gathering spot empty. A quick look inside and at the construction dumpster outside indicates an almost total gutting of the interior. Metal ceiling tin and insulation has been torn out, but the cheery yellow brick building seems to exude a kind oh hopefulness for the future. A September re-opening is the goal at this point.

We will keep you updated on the progress.
