Henrico County Holding H1N1 Vaccination Clinic At Deep Run Park

The Henrico County Department of Health will be conducting an H1N1 vaccination clinic at the Deep Run Park Recreation Center on Wednesday, November 4 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The target populations for this clinic are infants older than 6 months of age, preschoolers and school aged children, especially those attending private schools.

Deep Run Park is located on Ridgefield Parkway near its intersection with Gaskins Road. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Limited doses of vaccine are also available to pregnant women by appointment only. County residents can call 501-4151 to check on clinic times and vaccine availability.

Henrico County will be conducting weekly community vaccination events and is requesting that individuals who fall outside identified high risk categories wait until a clinic for the general public is held.

High risk categories include:

  • Pregnant women
  • Persons age 6 months to 24 years
  • Health care workers & emergency medical workers
  • Those with underlying chronic health conditions of any age (heart disease, lung disease, asthma, kidney disease, liver disease, metabolic disease such as diabetes, anemia and other blood disorders)
  • People who care for children less than 6 months of age

Additionally, the County will begin vaccinating at some Henrico County Public Schools this week. Parents of chilren will be notified shortly before their school is scheduled to be vaccinated.

Participating private medical providers received shipments of vaccine the week of October 26, 2009. You can contact your physician to see if they have received vaccine to provide to patients.
