An 18-year-old Godwin High School teen was sentenced in connection with vandalism and graffiti charges at his own high school. Peyton M. Fowlkes of the 2400 block of Crowncrest Drive was brought into custody to face the charges after a separate incident in which he allegedly broke into a garage in a home off Ridgefield Parkway on August 16.

The vandalism incident occurred at the school in June. Henrico General District Court Judge James S. Yoffy sentenced Fowlkes to nine months in jail. He must also pay $100 for each charge and just over $200 for cleanup costs.

Fowlkes appealed his conviction but remains in jail. He faces a hearing September 1 for the alleged burglary incident.
