Deep Run High School was among three Henrico County high schools recognized by the Washington Post as a top high school nationally in their annual “High School Challenge” list.

Schools are measured by the challenge index, which is determined by dividing the number of advanced placement, International Baccalaureate or other college-level tests a school given in 2010 by the number of graduating seniors.

The rating can reveal the level of a high school’s commitment to preparing average students for college.

Freeman and Henrico High Schools were also recognized.

Deep Run received a rating of 416. Henrico and Freeman earned a score of 950 and 1113, respectively.
