On Wednesday, October 24, from 6 – 7 PM, Orchard House School will host a community meeting to address traffic safety around the Lee Monument Circle and the vicinity. Last week, an Orchard House student and her father were struck by a car as they were walking home from Orchard House School. The accident brought traffic problems in Lee circle to the forefront. After the accident, various vested groups and neighbors moved quickly to contact the City and Councilman Charles Samuels, who represents the Second District.
Councilman Samuels, Tom Flynn, the traffic engineer from the City of Richmond, local civic groups, and individuals will meet to discuss their concerns and to identify immediate, short and long term solutions. Orchard House School and its neighbors have a vested interest in finding a workable solution to a growing problem.
