RTD is reporting that the CDC (Cultural Diversity Center) filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday:

The center estimated its liabilities at up to $100,000, including a disputed claim for $75,000 in unpaid rent to New Jerusalem International Christian Ministries, the church that owns the events building.

Freddie Robinson, who is listed on the bankruptcy filing as the president and general manager of FWR Inc., the center’s operator, said he no longer plans to have parties for teens.

This hot on the heels of Friday’s meeting with Councilman Hilbert where residents expressed their concern and frustration over the teen parties held at the CDC.

At that meeting Hilbert underscored his willingness to help the community find a better solution to a youth program: “We should be part of a forum where we talk to the kids and parents. We need to know what they want, within what’s appropriate, before we commit to starting a youth program. We need to meet their needs. My office can facilitate such a meeting.”
