Cat Tests Positive For Rabies

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Police Department’s Animal Control Division impounded a stray cat in the Chesterfield County Courthouse vicinity on June 27. The cat has since tested positive for the rabies virus. Animal Control officials remind and encourage all county residents to ensure their pets have current rabies vaccination and to contain their pets on their property. Residents should also avoid coming in contact and feeding stray animals.
