On Friday, a group of protesters from local Carytown businesses met with Senator Warner to express their concerns over the current, proposed health-care reform bill (America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009). The bill was facing a vote on a must pass procedural measure allowing for further debate.  On Saturday night Warner gave his “yea”, contributing to the measures 60-39 approval, much to the chagrin of local protesters.

However, Warner has yet to put his full support behind the bill. He was cited in the RTD, stating that he believes more cost containment policies need to be put in place. “If it doesn’t get to the point where it crosses the threshold that I can look you in the eye and say ‘I think this is better than the status quo,’ then I won’t vote for it.”
