Chairwoman Kimberly Bridges announced Monday that she would not seek re-election in November and that she would step aside as chairwoman for 2012. She’s entering her sixth year on the board and has served as chairwoman for the past two years.

“The School Board needs leadership that can continue into a new term, and I will be there throughout to support those fine leaders who hope to continue on the board,” Bridges said in an email to 1st District residents and supporters.
