After a year-long delay, ACAC’s plans to bring a fitness center to West Broad Village are now back on track. As James Barrett of the Residents of West Broad Village site reports, the company will soon break ground on the facility at the corner of Old Brick Road and Gathering Place, across from the Children’s Museum of Richmond.

“The original agreement between ACAC and West Broad Village was a lease that evolved into a land purchase agreement,” Barrett reported. “Though there are still scheduling and county approval hurdles to overcome, ACAC is planning to break ground soon and open by the end of 2012.”

“We were committed to the project a year ago, and we’re just as committed now,” Chris Craytor, VP of Development for ACAC said.

The new fitness center will be four stories tall, 60,000 square feet in size, and will boast a rooftop pool and squash courts.
