… a 1999 black VW Jetta with Indiana plates was stolen from their garage sometime during the night last night. Although the garage does not lock, the car was locked. The police think that the thieves stole it for a joy ride and that it will probably be found abandoned soon. Please keep your eye out for the car.

And

Two cars on the 1200 block of Confederate Ave were entered last night. One had not been locked. Taken from my car was some change in the cigarette tray and a bunch of cards…like membership to the Museum, Historical society etc. There was one credit card…a Discover. When I called about the card being missing I was told that someone had called earlier to cancel the card and tried to get a new one.

Moral of the story: keep your cars & doors locked, and keep an eye out for suspicious activity.
