19th Annual Museum District Mother’s Day House & Garden Tour Sunday, May 12, 2013, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Join honorary chair Maya Smart and her family and celebrate Mother’s Day in style, touring some of the Museum District’s loveliest homes and gardens.

The neighborhood is known for its architectural variety, walkable streets, monument-lined avenues, and proximity to one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants. The nine beautiful homes and gardens featured on this year’s tour offer something for everyone to enjoy—a rooftop sanctuary with a breathtaking view; gracious balconies overlooking Monument Avenue; exceptional art and fine craftsmanship showcasing talent from near and far; even an elegant bed and breakfast that was Kevin Bacon’s home away from home while he prepared for his role in A Few Good Men! From contemporary to traditional, new to historic, these homes are worth seeing.

The route includes the 400 block of N. Sheppard Street, the 2900 block of Kensington Avenue, the 3100 and 3400 blocks of Grove Avenue, the 3300 block of West Franklin Street, and the 2900 and 3200 blocks of Monument Avenue. Shuttle bus service by James River Transportation will be provided during the tour. Parking and refreshments will be available.
