Are you the type that loves to go to the James River at Reedy Creek, but can’t leave your car in the parking lot while you paddle, bike or run? Hillcrest Avenue has been a popular place to park for safety.

There are people who live on that street and have to deal with all the visitors to the James River Park. Are you respectful of the neighborhood when you park on the streets in front of residents houses? Yes, they are public streets, but you know you wouldn’t like it if someone parked in front of your house or blocked your driveway for hours on end while theyenjoyed themselves down at the river.

See these posts to the James River News Hub Facebook page from a Hillcrest Avenue resident:

FYI, no more Mr. Niceguy at 4104 Hillcrest, no more warnings, no more notes on windshields, park in my private pulloff, get towed immediately. Oh, 3rd one in as many weeks.

[Me: Is it boaters?] Mountain bikers added heavily to the already heavy boater population.

for the record, I LOVE our parks and want people to feel welcome & use them often, just hopefully they’ll have some common decency.
