VCU to face FSU in Puerto Rico Tipoff
For the first time since the 2011 Sweet 16, VCU and Florida State will meet on the hardwood.
Ram fans know the call, “He blocked it! He blocked it! The Rams win! They’re going to the Elite Eight!” In November, a chance to play top-seeded Kansas in the Elite Eight won’t be on the line, but the VCU-Florida State matchup in the Puerto Rico Tipoff promises to be one of the Rams’ marquee games this season.
In addition to being a rematch from the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the game pits new VCU addition Terrance Shannon against his old school. After spending four seasons at FSU, Shannon joined VCU and will be eligible to play this season because of graduate transfer rules.
In addition to FSU, VCU will play three more ACC teams this year: UVA, Virginia Tech, and Boston College.
