RAMPEDE

Richmond is drunk, positively drunk, off of megasporting events this weekend: we’ve got both the Monument Avenue 10k and the Rams playing in the Final Four. Why not combine both of these into a…RAMPEDE!?

Sportsbackers, the fine folks who put on the Monument Avenue 10k, are encouraging everyone running the 10k to wear black and gold. Not only that but they’ve got a pretty sweet RAMPEDE shirt for sale.

From the press release:

As the event organizers, the Sports Backers want to show support for the team by turning the 10k into a “RAMpede” – a 41,000-person pep rally in advance of that evening’s game versus Butler.

Participants and spectators can get involved too:

  • Wear black & gold when you run/walk on Saturday! Both the Race Merchandise store and the Massey Cancer Center booth at the expo on Thursday and Friday will be selling VCU-themed items.
  • The homestretch of the race will be the “FINAL 4oo meters”. We’ll be handing out 3,000 Go Rams! signs to spectators lining the finish line.
  • Cheer on VCU to victory with a Cheer Sheet! Stop by the Richmond Times-Dispatch booth at the expo and pick up a keepsake cheer sheet. Quantities are limited, first come first serve.
  • Buy a “RAMpede” t-shirt! Yellow t-shirts sporting the RAMpede logo will be available to purchase at the Race Merchandise booth at the expo and at the Post Race festival.
